thank you dear for calling me up just to pray for me yesterday night. you know who you are (: such a simple gesture but means so much.
today's project execution at Singapore School for the Deaf went well. (: the children are so special. makes me want to learn the sign language, as in not just for an one-off thing, but for good this time.
i suddenly have this urge to read Great Expectations again.
you know why social science is interesting? what you're reading can actually contradict why you're reading it. it challenges you. it makes you think twice.
"Think of the diplomas you have or will get. You probably hope that these pieces of paper will help you get a job. But why should anyone give you a job because of a piece of paper? A diploma is no proof that you are competent, honest, or hard-working. If a diploma helps you get job, it is only because an employer believes that in getting the diploma you acquired skills and habits that will make you a good worker. If employers stopped believing this, diplomas would be worthless in the labour market, and many schools would be empty."
